NYS Septic Replacement Fund
New York State has identified priority geographic areas where there is a critical need to reduce the impact of sewage effluent from cesspools and septic systems on ground and surface waters. A Septic System Replacement Program has been created to assist property owners who choose to pursue septic system replacements and upgrades by granting up to 50% or up to $10,000 of the eligible costs per project.
Clicking the above map will open an interactive map that will allow you to search your property to help determine if it is within the septic replacement zone.
The interactive map depicts the eligibly priority waterbodies (listed below). The priority geographic areas for surface water bodies includes properties within 250 feet from each side of a priority waterbody as listed below. These are depicted in the map by a blue zone. If this blue zone covers your property, you may be eligible for grant funding.
