Niagara County Announcers Upcoming Closure of Wilson Burt Rd Bridge
Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner Garret Meal today announced that the Wilson Burt Rd Bridge over 18 Mile Creek in the Town of Newfane will be closed to all motorists beginning Monday, February 24. The bridge will reopen on approximately August 1.
The bridge closure is between Lockport-Olcott Rd and West Creek Rd. Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner Garret Meal said the closure if necessary for extensive bridge rehabilitation work. Electronic message boards are already in place warning motorists of the pending closure.
“Niagara County DPW has done extensive bridge and culvert work in recent years to keep our infrastructure safe for the travelling public,” said Meal. “We recognize the inconvenience to motorists and appreciate the public’s patience as we complete these projects.”
