Culvert Work to Begin Next Week on Upper Mountain Rd

The Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) today announced that culvert work will begin next Wednesday, August 27, on Upper Mountain Rd between Sunset Drive and the railroad overpass.  This is the next phase in the Upper Mountain Rd rehab project that began in July.

Traffic between Sunset Drive and the railroad overpass will be reduced to one lane in each direction.  The work is anticipated to take approximately six weeks to complete. Motorists should expect slight delays.  The public is asked pay close attention and follow all posted signs and speed limits when driving through work zones.

Beyond the culvert the repair, the overall rehab project includes shoulder reconstruction and milling and resurfacing of 1.2 miles of roadway from NY 93 to Sunset Drive; crack filling/sealing of the pavement in half mile stretch from Sunset Drive to the railroad overpass; and the removal of three traffic signals along the corridor at entrances to the General Motors and Mahle facilities (the signal at Sunset Drive will remain.)  The work is being done by EdBauer Construction and is expected to be fully completed in November.
