NCDMH Director Laura Kelemen Elected to National Association

Niagara County Director of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (NCDMH) Laura Kelemen has been elected to the board of directors of the NationalKelemen NACBHDD Board.2.5.26 Association of County Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Directors (NACBHDD.)  As a member of this board, Kelemen will work alongside state and county leaders from across the country to help shape national advocacy and engagement to advance the priorities of local agencies.

“It’s an honor to be elected to the NACBHDD board and be able to bring the concerns of local agencies like the Niagara County Department of Mental Health to the national debate,” said Kelemen.  “At the same time, it’s also an opportunity to learn from other leaders and get ideas on what has worked in their communities that could potentially work here.”

Kelemen also currently serves as Chair of the NYS Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors.

NACBHDD  is the leading national voice for county behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disability authorities in Washington, DC. Through their work in policy, advocacy, and education, NACBHDD elevates the voices of local leaders on the federal level in Congress and the Executive Branch.   Their goal is to provide a unified voice to advance county-based public behavioral health and I/DD systems.
