Annual Niagara County Agribusiness Outreach Forum Happening March 13
Friday, March 13 from 8:30 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Training Center, 4487 Lake Avenue in Lockport. This is a free event, but attendees must register at https://www.niagaracountybusiness.com/featured-events.“The Agribusiness Outreach Forum is now in its 8th year and each year it seems to grow, as we bring together all different components of the agriculture economy to discuss issues and really celebrate one of the most important sectors of our local economy,” said Andrea Klyczek, Niagara County Commissioner of Economic Development.
This year’s topics include farm health & safety; best practices for agribusinesses ; the future of regenerative farming; and AI solutions for agribusiness. The keynote speaker will be Andy Turner, Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension, who will give a talk on understanding state and federal policies relating to agriculture.
“Agribusiness is one of the most important sectors to the Niagara County economy and it’s also probably under the most duress,” said Niagara County Legislature Chairman Mike Hill, whose district is home to numerous farms and agribusinesses. “That is why this event has become a must-attend for those involved in agribusiness, as it affords an opportunity to get the latest information while also bringing issues and concerns to the forefront.”
The event will also include networking opportunities and exhibits to learn more about the latest grants, incentives and resources available with information from agencies like the Niagara County Center for Economic Development, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County, Niagara Small Business Development Center, the Farm Bureau, the Niagara USA Chamber and SUNY Niagara. Complimentary lunch will be provided by Beans' Smokehouse.
