Work Resumes on Rapids Rd Project
The Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) today announced the project on Rapids Rd, from Raymond to Goodrich Rds., and Raymond Rd, from Rapids Rd to Dysinger Rd, will resume this week starting with gas line and waterline work at the Bartz-Crosby intersection. Temporary traffic signals were set up Monday for alternating one way traffic near the intersection. An off-site detour around the Bartz-Crosby intersection will be set up as construction progresses.
“After a very long winter, we are ready to resume work,” said DPW Commissioner Garret Meal. “This is a very significant project and we look forward to completing it during this construction season. We continue to appreciate the public’s patience and respect for construction zone signage to keep workers safe.”
This work is all part of a $6 million improvement project for Raymond and Rapids roads. Work will continue into the summer including re-profiling Rapids at Bartz-Crosby and performing cold in-place recycling (CIR) on the travel lanes. The project also includes a culvert replacement on Raymond Rd south of Dysinger Road.
