Wilson Burt Rd Bridge Expected to Reopen Monday, July 14

Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner Garret Meal today announced that the Wilson Burt Rd Bridge over 18 Mile Creek in the Town ofWilson Burt Rd. Bridge.2.19.25 Newfane is expected to reopen this coming Monday, July 14, about three weeks ahead of schedule. The bridge has been closed since late February.

“The bridge reopening represents the completion of Phase 1 of this project, which included extensive bridge work and rehabilitation of one the concrete piers,” said Meal.  “Phase 2 of the project is expected to begin in 2027.”

That phase, according to Meal, will be mainly focused on rehabilitation of the two other piers.

“The Wilson-Burt Road Bridge is the largest and most complex bridge in our inventory,” said Meal. “We appreciate the patience of the public as we make these necessary improvements to keep the bridge in a good state of repair to meet the long term needs of the community.”
